About Recruitment

Recruitment, also commonly known as "rush,"  is a two-week period that occurs during the beginning of the semester where Greek organizations recruit new members for their organization. We host fun events that are free and non-binding in order to introduce our organization, answer any of your questions, and for all of us to get to know each other. We can't wait to meet you all!

Frequently Asked Questions

01.

I'm not Asian or Asian American. Can I still join?

Of course! Sigma Psi Zeta is an Asian-interest but not Asian-exclusive multicultural sorority, so anyone who identifies as a woman is welcome to join our sorority.

02.

How do I receive a bid?

In order to be eligible to receive a bid, which is a formal invitation for you to begin the new member process for our sorority, you must attend at least one general interest meeting and two other recruitment events, as well as have a cumulative GPA of 2.70 or above.

03.

What happens after I accept my bid?

If you choose to accept your bid, you will begin the Sunrise Program. The Sunrise Program is Sigma Psi Zeta's version of the new member education process, a process that most Greek organizations have to help their new members learn more about their organization. The Sunrise Program is meant to educate new members of Sigma Psi Zeta on our history, values, and philanthropy while further developing their professional skills.

04.

Will I get hazed?

No. Sigma Psi Zeta as an organization and the Northeastern community do not tolerate hazing of any kind. We respect our members and would never force them to do anything they do not feel comfortable doing.
